And so on....

And so onward we go toward NYC to start a church. Does anyone know how challenging that can be? I mean, I am in a successful career as an educator, and have continued to take on more responsibility. God has blessed me with some abilities in my role as an educational leader, and I try to use them each day. (Although when a parent screams at you, it can be challenging.) I really enjoy my work, and I thank God for that each day. I can't imagine not enjoying the work I do to 'make a living'.
We also have been in our dream house for five years now, which I built alongside my father, uncle, family and friends. Always dreamed of building my own house in the woods. Well, we have trees behind it, anyway. Love our home, not just a house. There are so many memories that are precious to me and Superstar in it.
Also love the fact that my daughters attend a great school with Donald as the principal. They love it. My wife stopped working years ago so that she could 'be there' for the girls each day. And the fact that our children are within 5 minutes of both sets of grandparents, and the pank kids is not easy to leave. (I am excited about the global outlook and opportunities for the girls in NYC, though.)

But when God asks you to do something, it's hard to deny that.

The Calling of the First Disciples

18As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." 20At once they left their nets and followed him.

21Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

Believe me, I'm no fisherman. But I do feel as if though Jesus is calling us to leave our comforts and our families so that his kingdom might expand. I don't feel worthy of that work, and question why God would choose a wretch like me, but as Toby Mac sings: "I'm ALL IN."
