God is Large

So I have been encouraged by the amount of response I have gotten in the job search process. Surprised is perhaps a better word. I mean, I work hard at what I do, but T$ from Rtown in MI applies for things in NYC, greatest city on earth. What are the odds. I told superstar that God is large because every single call that I've gotten, I have been excited about. Not one has come in where I thought-oh, I wouldn't want to do that-or-I would do this out of service to you, God, but I don't want it. Every single one has been exciting and inviting. But yesterday, I did a phone interview with let's call it V. An organization. I applied big, and I can tell you it was the warmest phone call that I have gotten out of all of them. I could hear in the woman's voice the sense of invitation and sense of caring and desire to have me work for their organization. I am not being negative about the other calls, the people have been nice, I'm just making an observation. So she is passing on the big application, but putting my name forward on a couple of principal opportunities in the city. Since last summer, I have been asking God to put me where he wants me in a position, and I can't wait to see what that is going to be. Stay tuned. God is good to those who are faithful.

Big Difference.

I heard my superstar say this to the girls this week: "Discipline sounds like something that is bad, right? But really, it isn't. It means to push yourself to doing something. Like journalling, reading your bible, spending time with God. That is a spiritual discipline. See how that isn't a bad thing?" For nearly four years now (you can get the full story if you look back to 2007 postings), I have certainly elevated my game in the area of spiritual disciplines. Reading the bible more than I ever did before, truly engaging with what God's desire is for my life, not just when it is convenient, trying to spend time being still and listening to what God has to say to me, and one thing I never really understood why superstar did it - journalling. I really started engaging in my morning "Java with Jesus" when I began to work for my company in the D. I would get up early to drive down Alter Road to the little park where the lake turns into the D river.

10 years in a day

So my days are beginning to run together, and the timelines in my brain are blurry after being on the ground at CEM for three days or has it been four? Either way, let's just say that one day in India is like ten years. That is a pretty good description of what reality is like here. Pastor said that sandrews said that on a trip here many years ago, and I was shocked by just how accurate of a statement that was. A day here can bring life events that you might be exposed to once in ten years living the way we live in the US of A. Here, life is hard. No matter what.
